Southland members were shocked and saddened by the destruction and human suffering brought on by Hurricane Katrina. Like many of you, we were moved to contribute both on an individual and group basis.

At this past weekend's International Street Fair performance, we decided to donate all proceeds of Southland CD sales to the American Red Cross. Thanks to our generous fans, we were able to write a check for $200 to the Red Cross. If you missed our show but would like to help out our friends in need, please visit the Red Cross website. Thank you!

Oh Loyal FAN Members,

Well--Southland had another fantastic time at The Galaxy. We want to thank everyone who attended our show and hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. The Galaxy treats us well. Summer, who was stage managing the show, brought us cheeseburgers and beer. Fine dining at it's best!

Interesting Facts:
Britt went to the same school as Robert Cray. A year apart. We got to hang out with Robert and his band back stage. Nice people. I took a picture of Britt and Robert. Britt is so excited. Yeah Britt!

This is the only reason I'm in the band ya know. I get to meet people like Robert and get free beer and chips.

For June, I'm putting together a show again at the Galaxy that Southland will be headlining. Not just a weenie 30 minutes, but a full show. We'll feature a bunch of new cover and original songs. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,
Neil

The show at the Coach House last Saturday was a total sellout. Southland rocked the house until 12:30am. The band brought up three of their daughters to sing--these girls got a standing ovation! Several people came up afterwards and mentioned that they should record and go on tour.

The band also had a producer record the show and take videos and stills.

It was a very special night also because Rich, who has been with the band since its beginning 14 years ago, has had to leave because he moved and the day job just took all his time. Bummer! We'll miss him. His talents and friendship were so important to all of us. Rich's flute, vocals, rhythm guitar and keyboard talents will be hard to replace.

If you are interested in auditioning, the band requires the following:
• Good solid bass playing
• Able to sing harmony
• Enjoy playing a variety of classic rock songs along with originals
• Easy going with a dedication to making good music
• Playing additional instruments is a plus

The band is based in Yorba Linda, CA.

Please email your comments. Good or bad, we do enjoy your input.
